Sunday, another sunny day, brilliant !!!!
After a slow start we went for a drive around the area, through Pont-de-Ruan and Saché to Azay-le-Rideau where we had a prix-fixe lunch, that’s main course and dessert for a bargain price.

Our next stop was Ussé for a tour of the Chateau d’ Ussé on the banks of the River Indre, also known as the Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant. It was built mostly in the 15th and 16th centuries and is still inhabited, currently by the Duc de Blacas. It is said that Charles Perrault stayed here as a guest and was so inspired by the castle that he wrote the tale of Sleeping Beauty.

We climbed to the top of towers and into attics, down in to the dungeon and many other rooms in between. Then we drove back to Ballan-Mire and checked in for another 2 nights as it was a very nice campsite and the one we wanted to stay at in Savonierres was still closed.
Just a puncture now in Rodney’s back bicycle wheel !!!!!
So beautiful!! Glad to see that you’re finally getting some good weather and photo’s!
Hi to you both,
The photo’s look great with all the sunshine and blue skies, making me very envious, although we have had 2 sunny days back here in the UK, and it was the weekend. Glad to see no more mention of accidents, I was getting a bit worried.
Luv Neil.
