each stop off being a visit to family or friends.\u00a0 When we arrived in Hertford, late on Sunday 28 July, we did a quick calculation; in the four days since arriving in England we had managed to catch up with 45 family and friends.\u00a0 It was lovely to see everyone and also to be able to chatter away in English; no struggling to find the words for \u201cwhere do I buy a ticket\u201d, or\u00a0 \u201cis there a petrol station nearby\u201d in a foreign language.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thank you so much to Sylvia and Taffy for holding another garden gathering on the Sunday afternoon for 32 Blakes.\u00a0 Yet again, it was a lovely way to spend so much time with the family.<\/p>\n<p>Andy and Carole provided their spare room for our annual English residence yet again and Andy got us up and running after major computer problems prevented us from accessing any of our emails, photos, or documents.\u00a0 Socialising instead of food shopping became our major priority.\u00a0 Rodney is thoroughly enjoying the endless cricket on the TV and radio, but in between play we&#8217;ve managed to catch up on lots of paperwork and necessary &#8216;stuff&#8217;.\u00a0 The camera has had a bit of a rest, though I did wish we&#8217;d had it to hand in Hertford one Friday, when a perfectly coiffured, white haired, old lady, wearing cardigan, pearls and sensible shoes, handbag in the crook of her arm in Queen Elizabeth style, was filling up her BMW.\u00a0 She didn&#8217;t look big enough, or strong enough to hold the pump nozzle, but gosh, she did it in style.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2375\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2375\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/P1120066-800x482.jpg\" alt=\"Walking the fields of Hertfordshire\" width=\"800\" height=\"482\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/P1120066-800x482.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/P1120066-800x482-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/P1120066-800x482-600x361.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/P1120066-800x482-150x90.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/P1120066-800x482-96x57.jpg 96w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2375\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Walking the fields of Hertfordshire under a big sky<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Later that morning we went for a muddy walk;
