We’re fans of Seville<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

It was time to move to the far south-western corner of Spain and then we needed to just stop for a while and reflect.<\/p>\n

We packed up, paid up, stocked up and filled up, then drove up to Seville and out on the A49 to Isla Cristina on the Costa de la Luz, the \u2018Coast of Light\u2019.\u00a0 It was the busiest road so far, but still an enjoyable drive with the colourful oleanders still dividing the road.\u00a0 We glimpsed our first field of sunflowers, all in bloom; unfortunately I was too slow getting the camera out and we couldn\u2019t stop on the freeway.\u00a0 Rodney was the first to glimpse the sea, so he wins the honour of cooking dinner tonight.<\/p>\n

We settled Eileen under some stone pines for some shade, only to discover later that it is about 15\u00b0C cooler here and we needed some sunshine!\u00a0 Ah well, I think Eileen could do with a break from the heat and the fridge definitely does.\u00a0 At 5pm, we strolled across the road and over the sand dunes to the beach which was still packed with happy holidaymakers.\u00a0 Mr Camping Giraldo had said that the sea was cold, but when we dipped our toes, we thought it felt quite nice, so I think we might be going for a swim tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The onion and the cuttlefish?\u00a0 They were both sitting on the water\u2019s edge amongst the shells and flotsam.<\/p>\n

On Sunday we enjoyed perfect weather and a thoroughly relaxing day, swam in the sea, took no photos and finished the day with a tasty meal.\u00a0 Lovely.<\/p>\n

Monday involved a little more effort; we cycled in to Isla Cristina.\u00a0 There wasn\u2019t much to see, but we had a few chores and then we cycled back.\u00a0 It was a very blustery day with clouds being blown all over the place, so we didn\u2019t fancy being sandblasted on the beach and stayed tucked next to Eileen playing catch-up.\u00a0 A late walk along the beach at the end of the day would have wrapped up a simple day, but somehow we never found the energy and the wind never did drop away.\u00a0 Tomorrow there\u2019s rain in the forecast, so we\u2019ll get back on the road and drive over to Portugal.<\/p>\n
