Portugal here we come<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Tuesday was a lot cooler with grey clouds building over us and, just like when we landed in Spain, it rained on us as we left Spain.\u00a0 Not a lot of rain, but it was a bit of a shock after so many weeks of blue skies. We managed to register Eileen to drive on Portugal\u2019s pay roads and then drove in to Vila Real St Antonio.\u00a0 As we entered the Vodafone office, we were both anxious that we were in for another painful experience just like the one in Spain.\u00a0 But oh my goodness, it was so simple.\u00a0 The lovely young man, who spoke perfect English, set the whole thing up in less than ten minutes, no passports needed, no local address needed, no worries, and it worked before we left the shop.\u00a0 We were amazed and oh so very happy.\u00a0 To celebrate we had a nice cup of tea and I had my first pasteis de nata, Portuguese tart; delicioso.\u00a0 We also bought a rather nice tablecloth, there seemed to be a lot of them for sale in town and Rodney keeps making a mess of my Mum\u2019s old one.<\/p>\n

Following the coast road, we took a peek at Cascela Velha, but the only interesting thing we found were some brilliant dancing crabs, so we continued on to Tavira. \u00a0\u00a0This town was full of Indian restaurants, loads of them.\u00a0 It would have been nice to try one, but we already had planned a chicken curry for dinner, back at Eileen, so we just had an ice cream and a good wander around town.\u00a0 We watched some more crabs dancing by the river, while listening to a busker doing some great songs by Rodriguez and then went back to find Eileen to drive on to a campsite at Olh\u00e1o.<\/p>\n

The rain came down again as we set up camp and as life was now less dusty, I gave Eileen a really thorough clean-up; she\u2019s now glistening inside\u2026\u2026.though she does smell a bit like a curry house.<\/p>\n
