Friday 2nd<\/sup> June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This morning\u2019s bathroom entertainment was a bit of \u2026. nothing?  Someone must have forgotten to turn it on, which weirdly felt a bit disappointing.  \u201cEnough\u201d, we said, \u201dlet\u2019s move east, across to Koroni and see if their bathrooms have a better selection of music!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon after leaving Finiwhatsit, Reggie was climbing up green shrub covered hills, still with lovely views out to sea. After another 15 minutes we were heading over the promontory to the east side, to the Messinakos Gulf.  Only 25 kilometres travelled to our next campsite at Camping Koroni in ……. Koroni; or is that Corone, or \u039a\u03bf\u03c1\u03ce\u03bd\u03b7 ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I asked the elderly lady on reception if she had a space for us for two nights and she replied \u201cJust. Only just. A huge group just left\u201d.\u00a0 There are supposed to be 86 pitches here and as we drove through to pitch #51, there seemed to be only seven pitches occupied. It must have been a massive group that just left!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018ethnic, or authentic\u2019 campsite is only a ten-minute walk into the village so, after we had settled Reggie, that\u2019s exactly what we did.  Down on the waterfront, while Rodney had a chocolate milkshake for lunch, I tucked into an enormous crepe exploding with thick chocolate goo \u2026\u2026.. looks like healthy eating has gone out of the window today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The castle looked tempting, though it turned out to be mostly rubble; but it was still worth the hike uphill for the lovely views out across the gulf.  Mid-afternoon, after hearing yet another bout of thunder rumbling, we decided to get back to the campsite quick smart, before we got caught in an exploding black cloud.  It turned out to be a bit of a wimp, with only spits and spots of rain while we sat reading our books under the awning, and the rumbles gradually faded away over the hills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday 3rd<\/sup> June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another campsite, another bathroom, another morning, another bathroom. Where am I?  Is it left or right back to Reggie from here?  Did I come up the hill, or are we parked on the lower terrace of this campsite? I\u2019m increasingly feeling the need to stay put in one place for a week or more.  Is it because I\u2019m getting older that I am finding this more disorientating?  Is my brain losing its power?  Or are we just tired?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 I put my yoga mat outside. And managed to spend a whole hour calmly exercising under an old olive tree and a beautiful eucalyptus tree. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever done that before, and it was much nicer than being in a gym.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With chores finished. We spent the afternoon settled on comfy padded sunbeds beside the campsite pool and spent hours reading and relaxing. \u00a0Then, with bodies showered and batteries recharged, we strolled down into the village for dinner beside the sea. We ate thinly sliced, lightly fried zucchinis followed by tasty swordfish with vegetables whilst watching the boats being tossed around on white horses. After eating, we strolled along the quay and watched the sun setting over the campsite headland just as the moon was rising over the village. Beautiful synchronicity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
