So having made a start, here we go\u2026\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>After all the craziness of renting out our home to strangers, packing up our 25 years of accumulated \u201cstuff\u201d and then staying with our friends, Vanea and Peter, we finally set of on our long anticipated journey.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_79\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-79\" style=\"width: 695px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/2012\/03\/31\/leaving-australia\/p1060397\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-79\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-79\" title=\"Singapore\" src=\"https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1060397-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"695\" height=\"462\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-79\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Singapore<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>First stop was a\u00a0 visit to our friends Kenn and Pla in Singapore. We arrived after midnight, caught a taxi to their apartment on Sentosa Island and caught the lift up from the car park directly into their apartment. That felt rather swanky!\u00a0 The big\u00a0 bed was lovely and comfy and the shower was five star.\u00a0 Always good assets on a long trip. In Singapore, Rodney almost felt like he was back home, after working up there so much in previous years.\u00a0 I just love the city for all the interesting buildings, you can walk miles and see so many\u00a0fascinating things.<\/p>\n<p>We lived out of our suitcases for 5 days\u00a0and were well entertained by little Casse(6) and her hamster, Alice, who lives in her own small &#8216;Wonderland&#8217;.\u00a0 Kenn &amp; Pla spoilt us ridiculously with wonderful meals and driving us around.
