{"id":787,"date":"2012-06-30T19:43:03","date_gmt":"2012-06-30T18:43:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/?p=787"},"modified":"2025-11-23T06:01:34","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T06:01:34","slug":"the-yellow-village-and-the-red-village","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/2012\/06\/30\/the-yellow-village-and-the-red-village\/","title":{"rendered":"The Yellow Village And The Red Village"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rodney has requested that it be noted that the removal of our toilet waste and the grey waste were the smelliest so far.\u00a0 It is so hot here with temperatures well above 30\u02daC for about\u00a0ten days straight, that &#8216;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">it&#8217;<\/span> must be cooking in there\u2026\u2026. no comment\u2026\u2026\u00a0 He was very glad to get back in the driver&#8217;s seat and hit the road.\u00a0 So we left the energetic apricot tree behind us with a pot of apricot sauce and a bag of very fresh apricots in the bottom of the cupboard.\u00a0\u00a0We drove through Cavaillon, past two standard road signs that showed a car exploding.\u00a0 Neither of us could think what it means, so we continued on.\u00a0 Mind you, the speed bumps are enormous and maybe that had something to do with it.<\/p>\n<p>We spent the day driving across Vaucluse, for those of you in Sydney, no it\u2019s nothing like it.<\/p>\n<p>We visited two villages, one yellow and one red, oh and a quarry.\u00a0 On the way we stopped near the 12<sup>th<\/sup> century Abbaye de Senanque to get the classic shot of a Provence lavender field.\u00a0 The lavender is really only just beginning to show its colour, but it really is a lovely to see.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_788\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-788\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-788\" title=\"The Abbaye de Senanque\" src=\"https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/The-Abbaye-de-Senanque-600x385.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"385\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/The-Abbaye-de-Senanque-600x385.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/The-Abbaye-de-Senanque-300x192.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/The-Abbaye-de-Senanque-150x96.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/The-Abbaye-de-Senanque-96x61.jpg 96w, https:\/\/www.petersphotogallery.com\/rodneyandlaura\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/The-Abbaye-de-Senanque.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-788\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Abbaye de Senanque<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gordes is yet another lovely hilltop village, another \u2018Les Plus Beaux Villages de France&#8217;;
