I’ve been a very lucky pig, I went to the 2012 London Olympics! The beach volleyball was great fun and I could see Nelson’s Column from my seat in the stadium. The sand looked nice, but it did make me miss the beaches in Sydney. I couldn’t find any sea nearby……
I did wave the flag for England, because that’s where I came from, but I really cheered on the Aussies. Shame they lost, maybe they missed the sound of the waves in their ears……
It was very exciting out at the Stratford Olympic site, so many stadiums and so much parkland to stroll around. We found some boats on the river, including the Royal Barge, but still no waves on a beach anywhere……
It was so loud inside the stadium that my ears nearly fell off. I don’t think I have ever seen, and heard, so many people all in one place!
I seem to have logged in ok. Do hope all going well. At last we have rain today for the first time for ages; all the trees and gardens were beginning to suffer. Will now continue to follow your blog, probably on a haphazard basis. We are off to the USA on 4/10 for the rest of October. xx
