The suitcases were packed. Everything that we couldn’t take with us went back in to storage. Vanea and Peter drove us to Sydney airport, we said our farewells on the pavement and confirmed “our booking for November” with them. We cannot thank you both enough, Vanea and Peter. You do so much for us and we really do appreciate everything; the home away from home, the good company and laughs, the mail service, the computer help-desk, the physio treatment. It has all helped to make our life, without our own home, so much easier in Sydney.
Oh and on the subject of physiotherapy, if there’s any ladies reading this who are having babies, who have had babies and maybe also those that haven’t, who are finding their girlie bits aren’t functioning like they used to, or need a little care, then take a look at Vanea’s women’s health website www.vanea.com.au . She’s got lots of helpful information and exercises on there and it’s definitely worth recommending to friends and family.

We survived the long flight with only a short break to stretch our legs at Singapore and we finally landed at Heathrow at 6am on Sunday morning. My brother Neil and his wife Debs picked us up at 7am and drove us to East Grinstead for breakfast with the Bradfords. It was lovely seeing Eileen sitting outside their house, but she was still not firing up. Rodney, Neil, Mark and Jonathan all had a look and a fiddle about under the bonnet, but to no avail. So her battery was removed and put on a serious 23-hour charge and we all crossed our fingers in hope that this might solve the problem. On Monday morning Jonathan and Rodney put the battery back in place, turned the ignition key and voila, she started up!!! Joy of joys, we were very relieved. So to celebrate we drove to Leatherhead and back and enjoyed being back in our travelling “home”.

So on Wednesday morning we will head north to Watton-at-Stone and Hertford. Eileen will have her full service and habitation on Thursday and we’ll then start getting everything stored in her cupboards and leave her in a field near Hertford while we fly off to Switzerland for this year’s ski holiday in Arosa.
